FAQ

Q. I am currently living with someone other than my parent, what do I need to do?

A. You will need a Caregiver Form filled out (available in the office or scroll down to download and print). Both ID's will also be required to accompany this form (copies are fine). This form is necessary if you are currently being cared for by someone other than your parent or legal guardian. The Caregiver Form is ONLY TO BE USED in the event of a parent being incarcerated, terminally ill, or out of the state/country (temporarily). Other cases would require a court appointed guardianship thru the court system. (Form located below).

Q. My parent and myself reside with someone else. We don't have a gas or electric bill with our name on it, what do I do?

A. You will need a Declaration of Residency Form filled out (available in the office or scroll down to download and print). The person with whom you and your parent/guardian are living with and your parent/guardian MUST fill out this form. The form asks for both of their signatures! You must also provide a gas/electric bill showing the name of the person with whom you are renting from. We must also have a copy of that person's ID. The address on the bill and on the person's ID don't have to match but the names MUST match. (Form located below).

Q. I am interested in applying for the free or reduced lunch program, how do I go about doing that?

You can do this 2 ways: fill out the paper form (available in the Main Office) or fill it out online. The paper form takes around 3 weeks to hear whether the student will qualify for free and reduced lunch whereas the online application only takes a week. Please visit https://anaheimuhsd.rocketscanapps.com/Default.aspx to fill the lunch application online. On both forms, please include all children that are attending school (K-12), no need to fill one out per child.

Q. I went to Alternative Ed. and I want to come back to Katella, what do I do?

A. You must meet with an Administrator at your Alt. Ed. to be sure you are on track to return to Katella. If you are coming from Community Day School etc. you should have met with your Assistant Principal or Counselor there and been given a copy of your transcripts, withdrawal papers, etc... indicating you are now on track to graduate. Proof of address is also required. Please come prepared!!!

Q. I can pick up my packet but I will be gone during the dates to return the paperwork. What can I do?

A. There will be no packet pick up and packet drop off. All enrollment/registration will be done online this year through Aeries Air or Aeries Re-Enrollment. Depending if you are new to Anaheim Union High School District (Aeries Air) or a current/former AUHSD student (Aeries Re-Enrollment).

Q. I haven't had my Tdap (Whooping Cough) shot yet. Can I enroll?

A. No. You MUST have your Tdap (even if you are a returning student) PRIOR to registration this year. Flyers are available in the main office if you have questions about what immunization you may need.

If vaccinations are needed, you can contact the AUHSD Health Center at 714-999-0814. (For a printout of clinics, please visit forms below).

Q. I don't live in the area, can I still attend Katella?

A. Yes. This will be situational. If you are living in the attendance area of another school within the AUHSD boundaries and you are wanting your child to come to Katella, you will need to go to the District Office (501 N Crescent Way Anaheim, CA 92801) and request an Intra-District Transfer. If you are living outside of AUHSD boundaries and your child belongs to another school district but you are wanting your child to come to Katella, you will need to go to the school district in which your child belongs to and request an Inter-District Transfer. Before the student starts at Katella, the transfer(s) must be approved and a copy must be provided.
