Littering Policy
It is a goal that students develop pride in their campus and have a desire to keep it clean and free from trash. Keeping a school campus clean and free from litter is a major problem and a great challenge.
Many students believe that, “The custodian gets paid to pick up my trash.” That couldn’t be further from the truth. It is not unusual for a custodian to spend up to two hours after lunch cleaning up trash, thus taking time away from many of his other duties. Students often drop their trash on the ground or simply walk away from their tables full of trash.
We have many trash cans on campus so there is no excuse for littering.
Littering on campus will not be tolerated.
Any students caught littering and/or walking away from their trash will be required to pick up after themselves and will be assigned a detention or On Campus Suspension.
Students standing next to trash or sitting at a table with trash will assume responsibility
Any student throwing food/drinks will receive an Off-Campus Suspension.
Tagging/Graffiti Implements/Evidence Policy
Students may not bring permanent markers, paint pens or other materials used for tagging or graffiti. Students may not have any tagging or graffiti on any school work, school book, personal binder, planner etc. Students may not be in possession of tagging or graffiti publications. Students caught with any of the above will be suspended and will be expected to pay for any damaged school material. Students are expected to respect and care for all property of the school: buildings, desks, books, bathrooms, lockers, etc. Students caught defacing school property will be suspended, transferred or expelled for the offense. Parents will be expected to pay for any damage caused to school property.
Graffiti is punishable under the Uniform Discipline Code and may result in ARREST.
